The museum is housed in a renovated building of former headquarter of Onomichi Bank which is an Important Cultural property of Onomichi. This museum exhibits archaeological materials of Onomichi remains from the middle ages and artworks of Onomichi-related writers and artists.
The artwork created with waste materials such as tower cranes for loading ship-cargoes. The unique combination of cranes installed with a telephone box is popular as a photo spot.
This theater, with a history of once closing, has opened in 2008 as "Cinema Onomichi". This mini theater with only one screen and 112 seats, has become a popular theater among film directors and actors where they come and greet from the stage.
The museum accommodates about 3,000 of Beckoning Cats. The building was an old private house built in Taisho era (1910-1925) and was renovated as a shop on the 1st floor and gallery on 2nd floor.
In 1998, the famed artist, Mr. Shunji Sonoyama has started to locate a Happy-Stone-Cat on this narrow 200m-long trail and people start to call it the Narrow Cat Trail. Many cat-lovers pay visits here as it became famous as cat's power spot.
Service between Chokoguchi and Top of Mt. Senkoji (Mt. foot to Mt. top is approx. 3 minute ride on ropeway) It is a 10 minute walk from Mt. top to Senkoji Temple .
This modern museum designed by acclaimed Japanese architect Tadao Ando exhibits artworks of Onomichi-related artists and masterpieces from all over the world. There is a cafe inside the museum which is popular for its beautiful views of Onomichi Channel and even Shikoku mountains on a fine day.
Observatory affords great views over the town and Onomichi Channel. The atmosphere changes with season and is enjoyable throughout the year.
